Imo North longs for rescue

Imo North longs for rescue

Imo North Senatorial District has, for too long, been burdened by leaders who wear the cloak of representation but betray the very people they claim to serve.

Those entrusted with the mandate of the people have turned representation into self-preservation and silent accomplices in the suffering of their constituents. Instead of championing progress, they champion personal gain.

The ordinary constituent is left asking: Where are the dividends of democracy? Where is the accountability?

The time for silence has passed. Over the years, we have carried the weight of betrayal on our shoulders. Over the years, we have endured the lies of those who claim to be our leaders. And today, we must rise and declare with one voice: we will no longer be deceived!

Look around you; what do you see? In the face of numbing hardship, our so-called representatives live in abundance. They build mansions while our communities rot. They dine at golden tables while our youth wander the streets jobless, hungry, hopeless, and overwhelmed by the lure of criminality.

These representatives promised us light, but gave us darkness. They promised us development, but delivered decay. They swore to be our voice, but chose silence when we needed them most. They are not leaders; they are betrayers, merchants of deceit, traders of our collective future!

Is this the democracy we were promised? Is this the representation we deserve? No! A thousand times, no!

Our representatives have chosen wealth over service, silence over truth, selfish ambition over the common good. They sit in high places, feasting while their people starve.

But hear me well, people of Imo North: we are not powerless. We are not voiceless. We are not slaves to political elites who think our loyalty is forever guaranteed. The same people who gave them power can take it back. The same people they have deceived can rise to demand justice, responsibility, and true leadership.

Let us awaken from this long sleep of complacency. Let us stop celebrating mediocrity. Let us stop allowing politicians to divide us with lies, or money. Let us not forget this: the power is not with them; it is with us. They deceive us because we allow them. They betray us because we tolerate it. They return to power because we give them our votes cheaply, in exchange for rice, for wrappers, for a few notes that cannot feed us for a week. And then we are abandoned for four long years.

The time has come for us to wake up! To say no to political enslavement! To demand leaders who will stand with the people, walk with the people, and suffer with the people until true change comes. Democracy is not a gift they hand to us; it is a weapon we must use to demand accountability, justice, and service.

Imo North, enough is enough! We must open our eyes, we must open our hearts, we must stand united. No more selling our future for crumbs. No more celebrating those who fail us. No more clapping for those who steal from us. From this day forward, let us declare: only leaders who serve with honesty and courage will be allowed to speak in our name. they have been sidelined by the evil system, but we must fish them out wherever they may be and send them for us.

Our children are watching, history is watching, and the land itself cries for redemption. The betrayal has lasted long enough. But a betrayed people can rise, and when they rise, no power on earth can stop them.

So, I say: Imo North, rise! Rise and reclaim your dignity. Rise and demand accountability. Rise and say to every deceiver and every betrayer, your time is up!

As another election cycle incubates, open your eyes, open your ears, open your hearts! Refuse to be deceived again. Refuse to be repurchased. Hold every representative accountable. Ask them: What have you done with the mandate we gave you? If they fail the test, send them home. If they betray us, never reward them with re-election.

The power belongs to the people, and when the people rise, no force on earth can silence them. Let history record that we, the people of Imo North, refused to remain deceived, refused to remain betrayed, and chose instead to rise, to speak, and to act for our liberation.

Even though Imo North today stands at a crossroads, it is neither finished nor hopeless. What we face is a call to action. The time has come for a rescue mission.

Because the current state of affairs is unacceptable. Because our people have been deceived long enough. Because every community, from the smallest village to the largest town, feels the sting of neglect. Because our children cannot inherit a broken land, stripped of opportunity and dignity. Because if nothing is done, we shall all soon be dead, crushed by avoidable violence and bloodletting.

We must rescue Imo North from the grip of corrupt representatives who trade our votes for their enrichment; the swirling spate of violence and criminality; the cycle of poverty that forces our youths to seek survival in desperation; and the silence that has become the trademark of our so-called leaders in the face of our suffering.

And to this we say, loud and clear: Enough is Enough!

Imo North is in distress. Our people are burdened by poverty, neglected by the government, deceived by those who swore to represent us. The signs are everywhere. For too long, our destiny has been mortgaged by those who misuse service as an avenue for self-enrichment.

Yes, Imo North needs a rescue. But the burning question is: by who?

The next election cycle is booting; shall we wait for the same politicians who have betrayed us time and again? Shall we entrust our fate to the career deceivers who only appear at election time?

No! They cannot give what they do not have. They cannot rescue people they helped to sink. The rescue mission of Imo North cannot be led by those whose hands are stained with deception and greed.

The rescue mission will be carried out by the people themselves: by men and women of courage, vision, and integrity who rise from among us. It will be driven by: the youth who are tired of waiting for promises that never come; the women who hold our homes and communities together despite hardship; the elders who remember a time when dignity, honesty, and respect guided leadership; the ordinary citizens who know that true power rests not in government houses, but in the will of the people; the transformation-inclined natives who can no longer tolerate the decay and perfidy.

We must reclaim our voice and no longer remain silent in the face of betrayal. We must reshape our politics and reject the culture of trading ballots for crumbs. We must restore hope for the youth and wean them from the grip of gangsterism, and assure them that hope is around the corner. We must raise a new generation of leaders who put people above self, service above greed, and justice above compromise.

This is a call to action. The Rescue Mission is not for tomorrow; it is for today. It begins when the people say no more! It begins when we stop celebrating failure. It begins when we unite to demand accountability, honesty, and vision.

Imo North cannot be saved by foreign hands, or imposed ‘leaders’ who remain tied to the apron strings of roguery, strange masters.  It will be saved by us. The farmer who refuses to quit. The trader who keeps striving. The teacher who continues to shape minds despite neglect. The youth who refuses to surrender to crime and hopelessness. Each of us has a role to play in this mission.

And when we rise together, our cry shall be: Rise, Rescue, Rebuild, Transform!

Imo North is calling. It cries for rescue and transformation. And we, the people, must answer. Not with fear, not with silence, but with courage, unity, and determination.

This is not the mission of one man or one woman. This is the mission of a people tired of betrayal and ready for redemption and transformation. Together, we will rise. Together, we will rebuild. Together, we will rescue and transform Imo North.

The time is now! Enough is enough!

And let history record our movement: Rise, Rescue, Rebuild, Transform!
