Imo Corps Members Implored To Diligently Discharge Their Duties, As Orientation Closes

Mrs Rachel Idaewor, the NYSC Imo State Coordinator, has implored Corps Members to diligently discharge their duties as they are deployed to Places of Primary Assignment (PPA) to bring about the needed development both in the State and the nation at large.

Addressing the Corps Members at the official closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch C Stream ll orientation course held at Eziama Obaire Camp.

She enjoined them to maintain the discipline, loyalty, resourcefulness and other laudable virtues they had imbibed in the course of the orientation exercise.

“To ensure a seamless service year, you should sustain these attitudes in your Primary and Secondary Assignments.

“The various trainings received serve as a guide towards your achieving a fruitful service year.

Mrs Idaewor equally encouraged the Corps Members to quickly settle down at their host communities, integrate and impactfully contribute to the development of society through the Community Development Service (CDS) projects

The Corps Members, while developing their host communities, were further advised on the importance of investing in themselves by actively embarking on the Post-Camp Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Training.

“SAED remains the surest means to ameliorate poverty and unemployment,” Idaewor said.

Furthermore, the Corps Members were admonished to abide by the rules guiding the service year while shuning unauthorised journeys and night travels.

On security, the Coordinator assured the Corps Members of their security and adequate welfare during their Service year.

However, she tasked them to be security conscious since security was a collective effort.

The Coordinator expressed her appreciation to the State Government and other stakeholders for creating an enabling environment for the success of the orientation course.
