Nigerian international Anthony Ijoma has officially joined FK Radnik Bijeljina, a club in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Premier League, for a three-year contract.
According to a statement yesterday by media handlers, Ijoma was officially presented to the public at the weekend.
Ijoma’s journey to Bijeljina was initially slated for July, but his national assignment with the Nigerian team in the recently concluded CHAN tournament and prolonged visa protocols caused a delay.
“Despite these setbacks, Ijoma’s determination and perseverance have finally paid off, and he’s now ready to take on new challenges in Bosnia.
“As Ijoma settles into his new role, he’s focusing on learning the local language and adapting to the club’s unique style of play. It’s an opportunity for new challenges, and I will make the most of this opportunity.
“FK Radnik Bijeljina, founded in 1945, boasts a rich history in Bosnian football. The club has experienced its fair share of triumphs, including winning the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Cup in 2016 and participating in the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. With a seating capacity of 6,000, the Bijeljina City Stadium is set to become Ijoma’s new home ground.
“As Ijoma embarks on this new chapter in his career, fans are eagerly anticipating his debut performance. With FK Radnik Bijeljina’s upcoming matches against formidable opponents like Borac Banja Luka and NK Široki Brijeg, Ijoma’s skills will be put to the test. Will he rise to the challenge and make a lasting impact in Bosnia? Only time will tell.
“However, with Ijoma’s arrival, FK Radnik Bijeljina is poised to make waves in the Premier League,” the statement read.
