
To ensure the safety and security of students and educational institutions in Jigawa state, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has launched the Safe School Initiative and Integration of Jigawa state Police Command Schools Protection Squad.
The IGP Egbetokun was represented in the occasion held on Wednesday in Dutse by the Assistant Inspector General, Ahmed Ammani, in charge of zone four comprising Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states.
“As part of the program, training will be provided for educators, administrators, and security personnel to recognise and respond to security threats.
“Additionally, modern technology and intelligence-led policing will be employed to ensure proactive law enforcement presence around schools,” he added.
The IGP further stated the importance of collaboration between educational authorities, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies to guarantee the safety of schools and, by extension, the future of the nation.
Also, the Jigawa state governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has announced a significant investment in ensuring the safety and security of schools in the state.
