The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) said the passenger at the center of the altercation with an Ibom Air cabin crew has appeared before its officials as part of an ongoing investigation.
This was confirmed by the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, who assured that the process would be transparent and impartial.
Achimugu explained that several directorates of the Authority—including Aviation Security, Operations, Licensing and Training Standards, Legal, and Consumer Protection—are working together on the matter.
“Yesterday in Abuja, the NCAA team met with Julie Edwards and other members of the Ibom Air crew involved in the incident with passenger Comfort Emmanson,” he stated.
He added that Emmanson also met with the Authority on Thursday, accompanied by her lawyer.
“We have met with her. As we proceed, I will continue to provide updates,” Achimugu noted.
The NCAA said findings from the ongoing probe will be made public once the process is concluded.
