Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has declared that he remains accountable for every action and inaction of his administration.
He said this commitment is part of his duty in the course of providing leadership for the people of the state.
The governor made the statement on Sunday, at the Government House Chapel in Owerri, while attending a church service to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.

He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to govern Imo State and assured citizens that his government would continue to uphold transparency and responsibility.
“I am accountable for any action or inaction of my government.
“Whatever happens under my leadership, I take responsibility because leadership is about service and accountability,” Uzodinma stated.
Speaking further, he lamented that despite Nigeria’s vast natural resources, the country is yet to fully harness them for economic growth. He stressed the need for reforms in governance and development.
“Nigeria is richly blessed with natural resources but still yearning for productive utilization for economic recovery and livelihoods,” he said.
According to him, the state government has resolved to adopt a new approach to governance.
“The old order is gone. They are gradually and incrementally giving way to the new order. Citizens cannot continue to suffer in the midst of plenty. We must work.
“We must be busy. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. If you must be tempted; remain idle. A busy mind is a productive mind,” the governor added.
Uzodinma also urged Imo people and Nigerians at large to embrace progress, stressing, “I urge all to agree to move forward and not recline on the past.”
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more productive and accountable government that will deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
