The president of the Nigeria Association of Auctioneers, Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya, has said the association has only one executive of which he is the president.
In an exclusive chat with Blueprint in Abuja, Wednesday, Kiliya urged the public to know that there is no position in the constitution of the association that allows a caretaker committee to lead its members.
He said: “I have noted the publication by one Salamatu Abdullahi and co travelers celebrating a judgment and trying to mislead the general public on who the real leadership of the association is.
“First of all, the election that brought Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya was conducted in 2013 and some members wanted to truncate his leadership so they went to the FCT high court.
“The court ruled against them, and the same persons went to court of appeal. The judgment was also not in their favour and they proceed to Supreme Court, and the appellate court dismissed their appeal too.
“To this end, any document or certificate given by the caretaker committee is a forged entity and hereby declared null and void as it’s not recognised by the association; so the public should disregard people with it,” he said.
The president pointed out that the association did not grant either anyone the authority to operate on its behalf in any form, be it formal or informal.
