Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has recounted how she narrowly escaped death in June after undergoing an emergency surgery in the United Kingdom.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Sunday — and later deleted — the award-winning actress revealed that the frightening experience occurred while she was in the UK with her husband, Banky W, and their two sons.
She expressed immense gratitude to God for saving her life, noting that the ordeal greatly deepened her faith.

“I could have lost my life in June of this year,” she wrote. “I went through a horrific incident that landed me in unplanned surgery. The surgery was ironically the least dramatic part of what I went through.”
Adesua explained that she and her family had travelled to the UK for two speaking engagements when the incident happened.
“If even one single detail of that day were different, I wouldn’t be here today. I shudder when I think about it,” she added.
Reflecting on the experience, the actress said it renewed her awareness of God’s power and protection.
“Like a map, I can literally look back over that day and trace how His hands were all over that situation. There is nothing anyone can tell me — God is real!”
She went on to encourage her followers to embrace compassion and gratitude in their daily lives.
“Let’s be softer, kinder, gentler, forgiving, patient, loving, and peaceful. I will never take another day for granted. Neither should you,” she wrote.
Adesua, who has often spoken openly about her personal battles, previously revealed how she endured hyperemesis during pregnancy, supported her husband through surgery for a cancerous tumour, and underwent an emergency C-section in 2024.
Despite all she has faced, the actress said she remains deeply thankful, using her story to remind others to keep faith and never lose hope.
