Hyundai Motor is recalling 568,580 Palisade sport utility vehicles in the United States due to a defect in the seat belt buckles that could fail to properly secure passengers in the event of a crash, US auto safety regulators announced on Thursday.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects certain Palisade models manufactured between 2020 and 2025. The agency explained that components of the seat belt buckle assemblies may have been produced with physical dimensions that did not meet specifications, potentially compromising safety.
As an interim precaution, customers are being advised to insert the seat belt firmly into the buckle using a quick, direct motion and to pull on the belt to confirm it is fully secured until a recall remedy is carried out.
