Hoodlums kill motorcyclist, steal bike at Zuba

A gang of hoodlums in Zuba town in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has reportedly killed a commercial bike rider after hitting him with a hammer on his head.

The deceased, Mubarak Abdullahi (23), a resident of neigbouringMadalla town in Suleja LGA of Niger State, was attacked by the gang around 5am.

His younger brother, Bello Abdullahi said, “I was alerted to the incident by a neighbour that my brother was seen lying around Nitel-Pole road and I immediately rushed to the scene around 7 am. I took him to a clinic in Madalla with the assistance of other people. He was attended to by the health officials on duty before he died later in the night.’’

A resident, who simply gave his name as Bala, described the Nitel road that linked Zuba and neigbouringMadalla town as notorious for criminals, who often attacked commercial motorcyclists as well as pedestrians anytime from 8 pm to 6 am of the following day.

The police in the area said the incident was not reported at the station.
