TikTok personality Peller has expressed concern over the hardship facing Nigerians, narrating how a friend of his journeyed from Ikorodu to Victoria Island just to eat chef Hilda Baci’s Jollof rice.
He made the disclosure in a video shared on Facebook on Monday, using the experience as an example of the level of hunger in the country.
According to him, his friend, identified as Taiwo, traveled all the way to the Island — the venue of Hilda Baci’s cooking event — simply to get food.

“That Hilda Baci’s cooking event [made me realise] Nigerians is (sic) very hungry. E get one of my friend that time, from Ikorodu him come Hilda Baci’s cooking event to collect Maggi, I swear to God. I said, Taiwo, your life has bended. And that guy I dey always show him love o. I don’t know how his life take reach like that…” Peller said.
He lamented that Nigerians are truly going through a lot, stressing that the incident reflected a wider reality about the struggles in the nation.
Hilda Baci made headlines on Friday after cooking the world’s largest pot of Jollof rice, a record-breaking achievement that drew massive crowds eager to witness and taste the historic moment.
