Hilda Baci Reveals Plans To Use 250 Bags Of Rice For Record-Breaking Largest Jollof Rice Pot Attempt

Hilda Baci, a Nigerian Guinness World Record holder, has disclosed that she will be using 250 bags of rice in her attempt to prepare the world’s biggest pot of jollof rice.

Baci, who set the global record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023, revealed the details in a video posted on Instagram on Monday, discussing the magnitude of the project that has sparked widespread interest.

She revealed that the massive pot created for the attempt has a capacity of 22,619 litres, adding that her goal is to fill it to 80 percent.

“My goal is to fill this pot up by at least 75 to 80 per cent.

“That means I will need about 5,278 kilogrammes of raw basmati rice to achieve the yield,” she said.

She noted that the calculation amounts to 264 bags of rice, but she has made a strategic adjustment to the plan.

“I am making the executive decision to do 250 bags,” Baci stated.

Regarding condiments, she revealed that the cooking will require 1,583 kilograms of tomato paste.

“For one kg of rice, you would need between 0.20 to 0.35, but because it’s Nigerian jollof, I’m going to use 0.30.

“That means I will need 1,583 kilogrammes of Gino tomato paste,” she said.

Baci explained that the tomato base would be divided equally among tomato paste, pepper chicken paste, and jollof paste to create what she called “the most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you have ever tasted.”
