Former Chelsea striker, Tony Cascarino has urged Manchester United to sign Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Cascarino said Guehi reminds him of Manchester United legend Roy Keane.
According to him, the 24-year-old centre-back is a very composed character.
“He [Guehi] is a very composed character and you want that from your centre back, and especially your captain,” Cascarino wrote in his Times column.
“Guehi reminds me a bit of Roy Keane in that respect. Keane has a reputation for being a fiery character, but he was Manchester United’s most important player because he was their most consistent performer.
“If Manchester United and Ineos are serious about the direction they are going in under Ruben Amorim, Guehi is someone they should be looking at,” he added.
Guehi had attracted interest from Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the past.
Newcastle saw a £65million bid rejected by Palace for Guehi’s signature last summer.
Also, Tottenham’s January bid of £70m for the England international was also rejected.
Chelsea are also poised to make a bid for Guehi having sold the defender to Crystal Palace for just £18m in 2021.
