Hard Times Preparing Nigeria For Greatness, Cleric Declares

1 week ago 21

PORT HARCOURT – The Cleric in charge of the School of Universal Law (SOUL), Christ Light Chapel International, Reverend Samuel Ogbujie Ogwo, has reassured Nigerians that the country’s current economic hardships is only preparing the ground for a great future.

Rev. Ogwo, made the declaration during the 53rd Annual Convocation and Convention of Christ Light Chapel International, admonishing Nigerians to align their actions with God’s plans.

He asserted that Nigeria has the potential to become one of the greatest countries in the world, and the current hardship was only a catalyst for the country to attain its potentials.

He said, “We should understand that seeds must decay to produce a fruiting tree. Nigeria has the potential to become one of the great countries in the world, and today’s hardship is only a preparation for attaining greatness.

“What is happening today is the labour pains that precede the birth of better days. However, Nigerian leaders must learn to work in the precepts of God, the Almighty Father.

“The different ethnic groups in Nigeria share one humanity. Whether they are Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, or Ijaw, they are one people. We will allow everyone to participate in our political system if we understand this.

“This is important because we need each other to build a peaceful and prosperous nation. Unfortunately, we have seen a situation where one or two tribes have monopolised political power to the detriment of the other groups.”

Rev. Ogwo, who explained that although Nigeria is a secular country with different religious groups, noted that the diverse religions in the country have their strengths and weaknesses, emphasised that Christ promised that every religion will eventually fuse into Christianity under one shepherd.

“If today’s crisis does not come, we cannot reach that fusion point. When bad things or hard times come upon us, we should know that good things follow behind. The bad things clear the road for the good ones to manifest.”

He remarked that even the difficult times may signify that we are entering a new phase in our religious life, stressing that Nigerians should pray for a God-fearing leader who will highlight the oneness of all the country’s component units, while noting that where genuine love exists, no one would like to harm the other person.

In a welcome address from the secretariat of The School of Universal Law, Mr. G.A. Agwu Okorie stressed the importance of gathering to reaffirm total allegiance to the Supreme Deity of the universe.

“We wholeheartedly obey Him alone, who has been our dwelling place in all generations and through all incarnations. We pour our hearts in eternal gratitude to God and express our implicit and unalloyed faith in our eternal Father.

“May the Summit and the Spiritual Hierarchy of this illustrious Order welcome every Christian faithful and all seekers of Divine Light present in this hallowed temple of Christ-Light to share with us in this cosmic and celestial event as we commune with the Saint. May Christ’s light remain aglow in your heart and affairs,” Okorie said.

Speaking further Okorie said, “It is a known and provable truth that life becomes new to every soul when Christ has entered it. The individual experiences and is convinced that mercy has found him to the admiration of those he comes in contact with.

“This perfectly aligns with one’s source and the source of all creation. He also beholds the unity in diversity of all God’s creations. Christ, indeed, is the light of the world.

“This is so because the untamed and unspiritualised human nature loves and enjoys what only satisfies the flesh to the detriment of the spirit in man. He lives a life of lawlessness, which he ignorantly calls freedom.

“Thus, easy-to-live life is constantly enticing, and many are being attracted and lured into it to annihilate the spirit in man.”

In his remarks, Dr Emma Okafor, an academic at the institution, emphasised the need to always come together to thank God for his blessings and affirmed that discipline is necessary in the lives of any Christian.

He urged Nigerians to live by the principles governing human existence, noting that by keeping to the laws of man and nature, we attract grace from God.
