The Kano State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has approved the appointment of Chief Magistrate Hajara Garba Ahmad as the Acting Registrar of the Kano State High Court of Justice.
Also appointed by the Commission are Musa Ibrahim Umar as Acting Deputy Chief Registrar (Administration & General Services), Usman Adam as Acting Deputy Chief Registrar (Magistracy), and Fatima Garba Yakasai as Deputy Chief Registrar (Legal).
A statement issued by the spokesman of the Kano State Judiciary, Baba Jibo Ibrahim, said the appointments were approved at the 79th meeting of the Commission.
Others appointed include Chief Magistrate Hadiza Rabiu Bello as Acting Director of the Judicial Service Commission, Chief Magistrate Zuhura Madaki as Acting Director of the Training Department, and Senior Magistrate Malikatu Mudh Nuraini as Acting Assistant Director of the Training Department.
The statement said the appointments were made after careful consideration of the appointees’ work ethics, track records, and dedication to duty.
The Commission also lifted the suspension of Ismaila Garba and Auwalu Ibrahim Khalli and warned Bilya Abdullahi to desist from illegal and unethical actions.
Additionally, the Commission demoted Hudu Idris by one grade level and placed him on compulsory retirement for receiving bribes, while it terminated the contract of Abba Bala Gwarzo for his role in the corrupt act.
“Kano State Judicial Service Commission reiterates its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and misconduct within the judiciary,” the statement held.
