Gov Yusuf Praises Army’s Anti-Banditry Operations, Hosts GOC 1 Division in Kano

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has lauded the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their prompt action against recent banditry incidents in the state.

The praise was highlighted in a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Yusuf issued the commendation during a courtesy visit by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad Wase, at the Government House in Kano.

General Wase, who visited to evaluate security in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas, reflected nostalgically on his childhood connections to the Government House.

His late father, Colonel Muhammad Abdullahi Wase, had served as Military Sole Administrator there in 1994.

“This is a familiarity visit. Since taking command of 1 Division, I have inspected attack sites to honor our brave troops,” the GOC stated.

Governor Yusuf thanked the military for their commitment and extended gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting capable service chiefs focused on safeguarding the nation.

He pledged ongoing support by donating 10 Hilux trucks and 60 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force in the impacted regions, while reiterating his government’s resolve to aid efforts against banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling.
