Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has launched the construction of 55 new Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the state, a move aimed at bolstering healthcare access for all residents.
The flag-off ceremony, marked by vibrant displays and community enthusiasm, underscores the governor’s commitment to improving the well-being of Ndi Imo.
Speaking at the event, Uzodimma emphasized that the initiative aligns with his administration’s goal of delivering quality healthcare to every corner of Imo.
He highlighted past efforts, including the renovation of over 305 PHCs across the state’s 305 political wards and additional interventions through the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) to enhance healthcare accessibility.
“These 55 new Primary Health Centres will bring essential services closer to our people, ensuring no one is left behind,” Uzodimma declared.
The new facilities are expected to address gaps in rural healthcare, providing critical medical services and improving health outcomes for Imo’s diverse communities.
The launch, captured in vivid photographs shared across media platforms, reflects the administration’s focus on tangible development.
Uzodimma’s healthcare drive has been hailed as a step toward strengthening Imo’s health infrastructure, with the new PHCs set to complement existing efforts and elevate the state’s capacity to meet residents’ medical needs.
