Senator Bassey Otu, the Cross River State governor says he will not allow TINAPA Resort and other projects inherited from previous administrations to die.
The governor disclosed this at the Dan Archibong Lodge in Calabar during a media parley.
The governor insisted that any project where government funds were committed into with be sustained by his administration for the overall good of the people.
According to Governor Otu, “We will not allow TINAPA waste, we did feasibilities on the project and have drawn up a programme for its reactivation.
“We have agreed with AMCON to take back the facility, made commitment with them and presently, TINAPA is a government property.
“We are going to reactivate this resort as this is consistent with our commitment to add life to our investments”, he said.
On the Northern Cross River Festival initiated to showcase the right Agriculture potentials of the Northern senatorial district of the state, the governor said “NORTHFEST has not been reversed but we are working by opening up the entire district through the airport project.
“I will not leave behind anything my predecessors started particularly those where public funds were out into “, the governor said.
Governor Otu also disclosed that the state is marching on it it’s aviation sector and it’s two newly acquired aircraft will arrive the state by March this year subject to regulatory approvals.
On the ongoing 3.5 billion dollars Bakassi Deep Seaport Project, the governor also defended the project saying it’s not humongous project.
He added that the project demonstrates a strong faith in the state by foreign investors and expressed faith that the project will come to fruition for the overall benefit of the state.
The governor said he is committed to building an all inclusive state where everyone will thrive and that he is committed to protecting lives and property.
