The Rector of the Taraba State Polytechnic, College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Dr. Yakubu Garjila, on Friday disclosed that the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas was brain behind the development recorded in the College.
Garjila, who made the disclosure during an exclusive interview with Blueprint in Jalingo, said the governor “since assumption of office has demonstrated his unending love for the institution.”
He added that the governor within the shortest period possible changed the face of the institution by embarking on massive development projects, stressing that the College “was like a ghost town that looks like a glorified primary school.”
“The resource persons who visited us last time testified that the college has enough manpower now. The next thing we are waiting for now is that when TETFund comes, we would be sending our staff for more training and publications.
“We will make sure we follow what is recommended for a polytechnic. As i talk now, we are expecting visitors today or tomorrow from TETFund to look at some things and take their reports back,” he said.
He said the institution was not in anyway affected by the 50% fee reduction, nothing that students before the deduction were paying N28, 000 for diploma and N34, 000 for HND students.
