Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved a minor reshuffling of the State Executive Council.
The move, according to the government, is aimed at strengthening governance and better aligning ministries with the ARISE Agenda’s development goals.
The decision, announced on Monday, was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah.

According to Uwah, “In his determination to strengthen the State Executive Council, align with the ARISE Agenda, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has approved the reshuffle of portfolios.”
The SSG further stressed that the shake-up was not punitive but strategic.
“This decision is aimed at repositioning ministries for greater efficiency.
“It is about assigning the right people to the right offices so that our citizens can feel the impact of government more directly,” Uwah explained.
As part of the changes, Capt. Iniobong Ekong (retd.) was moved from the Ministry of Lands and Town Planning to head the Ministry of Trade and Investment.
In his place, Dr. Ubong Inyang has been appointed Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning.
Uwah added, “The governor believes that the ARISE Agenda cannot be fully realized without constant evaluation of performance and redeployment where necessary. This adjustment is one of such measures.”
