The Commissioner for Health, Dr Habu Dahiru, who disclosed the development in Gombe on Wednesday, stated that the two-day summit would focus on “transforming the healthcare system in Gombe State: accomplishments, challenges, and the next frontier”.

According to him, the event will be attended by the Coordinating Minister of Health, Prof Muhammad Ali Pate, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, members of the National Assembly health committees, and development partners.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is also expected to attend and commission key projects during the summit, including the upgraded Federal Medical Centre, Kumo (formerly General Hospital), the College of Nursing Sciences, and the Children’s Hospital, Malam Inna.

Other highlights include the launch of the state’s Human Resource for Health Policy and Strategy, the unveiling of the “Flow of Confidence” initiative to strengthen service delivery, and the introduction of an Ambulance Emergency Initiative.
