Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to ensure conducive environment for corps members to thrive.

He made this pledge when the Gombe state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Chinwe Nnenna Nwaehuku, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, weekend.

Acknowledging the condition of the temporary orientation camp in Amada, Governor Yahaya assured that efforts would be made to improve its facilities while awaiting the completion of the permanent orientation camp, one of his administration’s priority projects. He expressed optimism that the permanent site would soon be completed to enhance the experience of corps members in the state.

“We want to make sure that our corps members are comfortable and supported during their service year,” he stated.

The governor also stated plans to collaborate with NYSC on a skill acquisition programme aimed at empowering rural women and widows across communities in Gombe.

He highlighted the importance of equipping these groups with skills that could open up economic opportunities and improve their livelihoods.

In response, Mrs. Nwaehuku appreciated the governor’s unwavering support for NYSC and the welfare of corps members.
