In the proclamation, Raffensperger declared: “I, Brad Raffensperger, the Secretary of State for the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim Nneji Lilian Nneka as an Honorary Georgia Citizen.”

The certificate further described her as a “goodwill ambassador” of the state, stating that she should be afforded “every courtesy” in her travels within the United States and beyond.

Reacting to the honour, Nneji said she saw it as a testament to God’s faithfulness. Quoting Proverbs 22:29, she remarked: “God has honoured me… seest thou a man diligent in his business, he shall stand before kings. I am simply grateful to God for releasing His grace and mercy upon me.”
