Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), and Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of the Lagos Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), are to lead discussion at a lecture to be hosted by Property and Environment Writers Association of Nigeria (PEWAN).
While Gbadegesin is the keynote speakers, Ajayi along with Aladeleba Adesina Emmanuel from Yaba College of Technology, will be at the event as distinguished guest speakers.
A statement by the association’s chairman, Okwy Iroegbu-Chikezie, says the annual lecture, already slated for Wednesday, September 3, at NECA House, Central Business District (CBD) of Alausa, Ikeja, has its theme as ‘The place of Waste Management in Relation to Lagos State Government’s THEME Agenda.’
Iroegbu-Chikeze added that Olutoyin Ayinde, former Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, will chair the lecture.
“The lecture will address critical issues relating to environmental sustainability in Lagos, with a specific focus on Air Quality Management and Sustainability in modern housing and urban development,” she disclosed.
According to her, the event will also feature awards to be presented to firms and individuals for their contributions to environmental sustainability.
