United States President Donald Trump has described the newly brokered Gaza peace agreement as “the biggest thing I was ever involved in.”
He said the deal marks a historic step toward achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
Speaking aboard Air Force One on Sunday while en route to Israel, Trump said the deal, which includes the release of the last 20 Israeli hostages held by Hamas, could mark the official end of decades of bloodshed.

“This could be the biggest thing I was ever involved in,” he said, adding that his message to the Israeli people was “love and peace for eternity.”
The Gaza health ministry reported that the prolonged conflict has claimed over 67,000 Palestinian lives, making the agreement a significant humanitarian and diplomatic breakthrough.
Trump is scheduled to address the Israeli parliament (Knesset) and meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as families of the freed hostages.
He expressed delight over a massive rally in Tel Aviv on Saturday, where speakers included his daughter Ivanka Trump, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff.
“It was an incredible rally,” he said. “They cheered my name, but I heard Netanyahu’s name got booed.”
Looking ahead, Trump highlighted the international peace conference set for Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, as a show of global support.
He noted that the inclusion of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the talks was “a good sign,” even though Netanyahu was not expected to attend.
Trump also credited his June strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities for weakening Hamas’ support.
“Once Iran’s influence was reduced, Hamas became ready for compromise,” he claimed.
