Chelsea extended their winning run with a one-sided 3-0 win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge, a result that propelled them into second place and cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to six points.

For Wolves, it was yet another miserable evening as they slumped to their ninth defeat in eleven matches, remaining bottom of the Premier League table with just two points.

The Blues were in control from start to finish, led by a brilliant display from Enzo Fernández, who dictated the flow in midfield and played a direct role in nearly every major attacking move.

Fernández pulls the strings early on

Chelsea began brightly, immediately putting the visitors under pressure. Fernández’s curling free-kick in the third minute forced Sam Johnstone into an early save, setting the tone for what would follow.

Minutes later, the Argentine picked out Alejandro Garnacho with a precise through ball, but the young winger failed to convert the chance.

Fernández nearly grabbed a goal himself with a spectacular corner that almost turned into an Olimpico, only for Toti Gomes to clear off the line. Wolves struggled to gain any possession as Chelsea’s midfield dominated proceedings.

Garnacho inspires the breakthrough

The breakthrough finally came early in the second half. Garnacho, who had been Chelsea’s liveliest attacker, cut inside on his right foot and delivered an inch-perfect cross for Malo Gusto, who headed home his first senior goal for the club.

Chelsea’s pressure continued to mount, and substitute Estevão made an instant impact. Within a minute of his introduction, his low cross deflected kindly into the path of João Pedro, who coolly doubled the advantage from close range.

Ruthless finish from a resurgent Chelsea

Garnacho capped his outstanding night with another decisive contribution, sprinting past two defenders before squaring the ball for Pedro Neto to finish off the scoring. Neto’s goal, his third of the league campaign, sealed a dominant performance.

Marc Guiu missed a couple of late chances to extend the scoreline, but the damage was already done.
