Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek has shut down rumours that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has a release clause in his current deal with the Turkish champions.
Osimhen completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray this summer after impressing during his loan spell under Okan Buruk last season.
The Istanbul club paid €75 million to activate his release clause at Napoli, sparking talk that another clause had been added to his new contract in Turkey.
Speaking at a sponsorship press conference on Friday, Ozbek dismissed those reports. “Osimhen’s contract doesn’t include an exit clause,” he said. “He’s an extremely successful player who will serve Galatasaray for many years to come.”
The Nigerian forward has hit the ground running since returning to Istanbul, playing a key role in Galatasaray’s strong start to the Super Lig campaign.
Meanwhile, in England, Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed that winger Samuel Chukwueze will play no part in Saturday’s Premier League game against Newcastle United as he continues to recover from a calf injury picked up on international duty.
“Joachim Andersen, as we expected and as I mentioned after the match, has a muscle injury. It’s not so serious, but he is going to be out and not available for the Newcastle match, Antonee Robinson neither, as well. Chukwueze is still out, Rodrigo is out,” Silva told the club’s official website.
Chukwueze, who has featured twice in the league for Fulham, is expected to return to full training before the end of the month.
