Fulham loan deal excites Chukwueze

Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze has expressed his delight after sealing a season-long loan move to Premier League side Fulham from AC Milan on transfer deadline day.

The 26-year-old former Vilareal star joins compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey at Craven Cottage and will wear the number 19 shirt.

Speaking after his unveiling, Chukwueze told Fulham’s official channel how excited he was to begin a new chapter in England.

“I’m so happy to be here. I have some friends here, and this is a fantastic club. I already feel at home, and I can’t wait to get started. Playing in the Premier League is a dream for every player.

“Have I spoken to Coach Marco Silva? Yes, he called me and convinced me to come here with his words. He’s an excellent coach with a style that suits me.”

Chukwueze, a quick and powerful winger known for his dribbling and ability to take on defenders, is expected to add creativity and pace to Fulham’s attack. Primarily operating on the right, he is also capable of playing across either flank.

The Nigerian international began his career at Diamond Football Academy before moving to Spain in 2017 to join Villarreal. He broke into their first team in 2018, scoring 37 goals and providing 29 assists in 207 appearances.

Now at Fulham, Chukwueze sees his Premier League debut as a major career milestone and is eager to rediscover his best form in England’s top flight.
