The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has recognized Assistant Route Commander Babatunde Owoeye of the Osun State Sector Command for demonstrating exceptional integrity in July 2025.
The award was presented on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Osun State Command headquarters.

According to official records, Owoeye declined bribes from traffic offenders on 104 different occasions.
He had earlier rejected 18 bribe offers in May and 38 in June, underscoring his unwavering dedication to ethical service.
Speaking at the event, Sector Commander Leye Adegboyega praised Owoeye’s conduct, describing it as a true reflection of the FRSC’s long-standing commitment to combating corruption and extortion within its ranks.
Adegboyega noted that the recognition was in line with the anti-corruption drive of the Corps Marshal, Sheu Mohammed, as well as the commission’s wider commitment to fostering professionalism and accountability.
“For his exceptional integrity, Assistant Route Commander Babatunde J. Owoeye has been awarded a commendation and a cash gift of N250,000. He recorded 104 ‘Attempt to Corrupt Marshal on Duty’ (ACS) cases in July alone — a feat that is unprecedented in the command’s history,” Adegboyega said.
The FRSC reaffirmed its firm stance against bribery and emphasized that honesty and discipline among its officers would continue to be acknowledged and rewarded.
