Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is set to return from his injury to play against Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old striker suffered a bruised shin in Nigeria’s 1-0 win against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, and travelled back to Turkey, missing the 1-1 draw against South Africa.
He’s yet to play a game for Galatasaray since then, but he’s prepared to take painkillers to feature against Die Adler at the Commerzbank Arena on Thursday.

Frankfurt goalkeeper unfazed ahead of Osimhen clash
Ahead of Galatasaray’s return to the Champions League, Frankfurt’s number one, Michael Zetterer, revealed he doesn’t accord more respect to Okan Buruk’s side because Osimhen is leading the line.
“I have no more or less respect for him than for a striker in the Bundesliga or in the DFB Cup. Maybe the name is better known, but in respect, it doesn’t change that for me,” the 30-year-old said in quotes revealed by SGE4EVER.
Quizzed about the fierce nature of the away Galatasaray fans, the 30-year-old backed the Frankfurt fans to outdo their opponents.
“We are not badly positioned. Our support is madness; we don’t need to hide. I’m curious if the Galatasaray players are afraid of our curve. I am not afraid to play in front of another corner.
The 187cm tall goalkeeper, at the age of 30, is set to make his official Champions League debut against Osimhen’s side.
“My career was not the classic way from a youth footballer. There were a few dents in it. This makes me even more appreciative of the chance that I can play Champions League on Thursday.
“This is the biggest competition you can play as a player. I am happy to be able to gain my first experience there on Thursday,” Zetterer concluded.
The game between Galatasaray and Frankfurt will be played on Thursday at the Deutsche Bank Park at 8 pm WAT.
