Tottenham summer signing Xavi Simons has disclosed that Spurs manager Thomas Frank played a key role in convincing him to join the club.
The Dutch forward moved from RB Leipzig to Spurs late in the transfer window for £52 million, snubbing transfer interest from Chelsea.
Speaking with the club’s website, Simons stated that Frank was a big influence on him moving to the side.
He believes the North London side are in a strong position to make a run in the Champions League this season and admits that this was one of the main reasons why he decided to make the move this summer.

“If I’m honest with you, that’s why I signed here, especially the club, especially the coach who has had a really big impact into the group ,” Simons said.
“It’s only my second week here but I can feel the group is really tight and together and that’s a really positive thing.”
“Yeah, he was a big influence of course and that was really important.
“At the end, it’s him, the club, the players. My feeling had to be good, and that was my feeling and how it’s been so far.”
