The Kano State Police Command has arrested suspected armed robbers and recovered large quantities of illicit drugs and intoxicants in its ongoing fight against crime.
In a statement on Thursday, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer, said operatives apprehended two notorious suspects in connection with a robbery that occurred on September 14, 2025, at Tokarawa Quarters.
The suspects, 20-year-old Nura Sani from Bauchi State and 35-year-old Ibrahim Lawan from Katsina State, allegedly attacked a residence armed with dangerous weapons.

They reportedly stole a Mercedes-Benz GLK worth ₦26.5 million, along with phones and other valuables.
In a separate operation in Jalli Village, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, police recovered 540 packets of suspected Pregabalin capsules worth ₦40.5 million.
The statement further noted that on September 30, a surveillance team intercepted two men, Alhaji Isyaku Babayo of K/Mazugal and Mohammed Ahmed of Dorayi Babba, at the Trailer Park in Dangauro.
They were allegedly found in possession of seven bags of a liquid intoxicant locally called “Akuskura,” with each bag containing 350 bottles, totaling 2,450 bottles valued at ₦2.45 million.
The police stated that the operation was conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
SP Kiyawa stated that the Command has transferred the suspects and seized drugs—such as Tramadol, Pregabalin, and Cannabis Sativa worth more than ₦120 million—to the NDLEA for further action.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the officers for their bravery and professionalism.
He told residents that the police are determined to find the remaining suspects and reclaim all stolen goods.
“The Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state, and we appreciate the continued support and cooperation of members of the public,” CP Bakori said.
