The Adamawa State Police Command has taken swift action by arresting and detaining four officers accused of misconduct and excessive force during an arrest operation in Fufore Local Government Council.
The incident, which occurred on October 14, 2025, at Sabon Gari Quarters, was confirmed in a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on Tuesday.
The officers were implicated in a widely circulated social media video that allegedly showed them using excessive force and firing shots while apprehending a suspect.
Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris strongly condemned the officers’ unprofessional behavior, assuring the public that appropriate disciplinary measures would follow.
“The Command will not tolerate any act of indiscipline or abuse of power. The law will take its full course,” Morris stated.
To ensure transparency and accountability, Morris directed the Assistant Commissioner of Police overseeing the Inspector General of Police’s X-Squad to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
He also urged the public to remain calm, reaffirming the Command’s dedication to professional policing and adherence to legal standards.
This incident highlights ongoing efforts by the Adamawa State Police to address internal misconduct and maintain public trust, following recent controversies involving police behavior in the region.
