Foundation Awards Education Grants To Over 500 Orphans, Vulnerable Children In Kebbi

BIRNIN-KEBBI – Mtech Global Concepts, a humanitarian foundation operating in Kebbi State on Tuesday gave over 500 orphans and vulnerable members of the society education grants which include UTME forms for school leavers, tuition and hostels fees for undergraduates and other higher institution across the state.

Speaking during the symbolic presentation of UTME forms to some selected beneficiaries, the deputy governor of Kebbi state, Alhaji Umar Tafida, who represented the governor at the occasion said that the foundation is a major stakeholder in the state educational revival of Kebbi state as it complementing what government is doing in terms of payment of scholarship, registration fees for both west African examination council (WEAC) and NECO.

He commended him for coming to the aid of orphans and the poor who also deserves to be educated as bonifide citizens of Nigeria and Kebbi state.

Earlier, Kebbi first lady, Zainab Nasare Idris, in her goodwill message urged well to do persons in the society to always reach out to orphans because one day your children will become orphans whoever you are in the society “whether we like or not we must die one day and our children will become orphans so .e must as opportune parents must care for orphans”.

She urged wealthy individuals in all endeavours to emulate Alhaji Manir Jega the Chairman of the humanitarian foundation for his thoughts and the execution of the kind gestures.

In his remarks, the owner of the Foundation, Alhaji Manir Jega said that he is giving back to the society what he was given by some philanthropist when he had nothing and could not sponsor his education then without assistance” when I see orphans I remember the time I was given assistance when I needed it the most, therefore I feel I should reciprocate the gesture by assisting orphans and the poor.

He explained that the foundation has no tribal or religious barrier as both Muslims and Christians are benefitting from the education grants.

Professor Bello bada in his goodwill message said that if the rich refused to educate children of the poor through scholarship or grants they should be ready for restiveness which could consume them or their far distance relatives.

The occasion which was held at Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic was attended by emir of Gwandu’s representative, top politicians and government officials including top academics.
