Former President Muhammadu Buhari has made a return to his Kaduna residence, marking the end of a two-year stay in Daura, Katsina State, following his departure from office in May 2023.
Bashir Ahmad, Buhari’s former aide, confirmed the development on X, stating, “Today, former President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to his Kaduna residence after spending two years in Daura, Katsina State, since leaving office in May 2023.”

Ahmad noted that Buhari had opted for a quiet life in his hometown, staying out of active political discussions and focusing on private engagements.
“After completing his tenure, he opted for a quiet life in his hometown and largely stayed out of active political discussions, focusing on private engagements.”
Buhari’s return to Kaduna was accompanied by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, as well as other dignitaries, including Babagana Zulum, governor of Borno, and Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna.
