The inferno, which started in the early hours of Sunday, gutted the house located in the Apo Legislative Quarters, leaving nothing salvageable. 

No injuries or loss of life were recorded.In a statement posted on his verified social media handles, Ashiru confirmed the total loss of the property and expressed gratitude that his family escaped unharmed.

“Yesterday, my home in Abuja was consumed by fire. Alhamdulillah, no life was lost. Moments like this remind us of the temporary nature of worldly possessions and the perfection of Allah’s plan,” he wrote.

“I am deeply grateful for the safety of my loved ones and humbled by the outpouring of support. This experience has only strengthened my faith and resolve. We will rebuild with greater clarity, gratitude, and purpose. What is lost, God replaces with something better,” he added.

Ashiru, a former member of the House of Representatives and holder of the traditional title Sarkin Bai of Zazzau, urged supporters to keep his family in their prayers.

Political associates, party members, and well-wishers have continued to troop to his temporary residence to commiserate with him over the incident.
