The Päijät-Häme District Court in Lahti, Finland, has sentenced separatist Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, to six years in prison for terrorism offences.
According to a Finnish news outlet, Yle, the court found Ekpa guilty of participating in terrorism.
The court also convicted him for aggravated tax fraud.

According to the prosecutor, the charges relate to his activities aimed at re-establishing an independent state in Nigeria’s Biafra region. It was briefly independent in the late 1960s.
The report noted that the charges brought by the Finnish government, “are part of a larger investigation during which the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation detained five people.
“Four of them were suspected of providing financing for terrorist offences. These four were released during the preliminary investigation.”
The Deputy Prosecutor General in Finland charged Mr Ekpa with public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent and participation in a terrorist group.
Ekpa was charged with suspected dissemination of separatist propaganda that has led to violence.
