The Federal Ministry of Education, Thursday, exonerated a teacher with the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC), Benin City, Edo state, Mr Jatto Agholor George, from allegations of sexual harassment.
In a statement, signed by the Director of Press, Folasade Boriowo, the ministry said that a thorough investigation was carried out by a panel regarding the allegation a few weeks ago, which led to the acquittal of the accused teacher as he was found to be innocent.
According to the statement, preliminary findings indicate that Mr. Jatto was on prep supervision duty at the time of the incident and was responding to a rowdy classroom situation.
Nevertheless, the investigation committee discovered an issue of high-handedness in classroom management by the teacher, hence the school principal was summoned to the Ministry headquarters in Abuja for further clarification.
