The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has enjoined nursing leaders to help in addressing challenges bedeviling nursing education and clinical practice in the country.

He made the call Tuesday during the 17th biennial nursing leaders conference organised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in Abuja.

Represented by the Director, Hospital Services of the ministry, he said nursing leaders, both in academia and clinical services, played a crucial role in navigating the challenges of the profession.

While saying that the nurse-to-patient ratios in clinical settings remain a big concern, he added that the present administration understands the need to invest in a supportive work environment for nurses to provide quality patient care effectively.
