
The Federal Ministry of Education has said it established a seven-member committee to address bullying in schools nationwide, reinforcing its commitment to student welfare and a safe learning environment.
A statement Tuesday signed by the director, Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, said the committee will also be mandated to review reported cases and ensure swift action, complementing the 21-member team working on a National Policy on Anti-Bullying.
In order to facilitate confidential reporting, the government has introduced a hotline – 09012660044, email: [email protected] and WhatsApp – 08052536133 to report such cases.
The statement said the Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, emphasised the urgent need for effective interventions, citing the psychological impact of bullying on students.
