FG elevates teachers’ education as TASUED becomes federal university

The federal government has officially taken over Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), elevating it to the status of a federal university. 

A statement on Monday, signed by director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, Boriowo Folasade,  said the transformation positions TASUED as one of the three dedicated universities of education in the country.

She said the development reinforces the government’s commitment to advancing teacher’s education and human capital development.

“The Hon Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the transition and for his unwavering dedication to educational development.

“He praised the president’s visionary leadership in strengthening Nigeria’s education sector and ensuring sustainable progress.

“Dr. Alausa also commended the Governor of Ogun state, His Excellency, Dapo Abiodun, for his support and trust in the federal government’s efforts to enhance the nation’s academic landscape. 

“Additionally, he acknowledged the Awujale of Ijebu-land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, for his steadfast backing of this historic transition, which will bring lasting benefits to the people,” the statement reads.
