Fernandes, Casemiro Score As Man United End Chelsea’s

Manchester United turned the heat on Chelsea as goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro ended the Blues’ unbeaten run in the Premier League on Saturday.

The hosts got off to a lightning-fast start, with Bryan Mbeumo going close to opening the scoring with a header in the third minute, and just one minute after that, Mbeumo was at the center of play again.

United’s initial dominance was largely aided by Blues goalkeeper Robert Sánchez being sent off in just the fifth minute for denying a goal-scoring opportunity.

However, it was Fernandes who broke the deadlock in the 14th minute before Casemiro extended the Red Devils’ lead in the 35th minute to the delight of the home supporters. The Brazilian international was later sent off at the tail end of the first half.

Trevoh Chalobah headed in for the visitors with 10 minutes remaining, but the hosts held on for the win, making it consecutive home league victories within the same season and under the same manager for the first time since December 2023 under Erik ten Hag.
