FCTA vows to sustain CBT promotion exams

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA)  Tuesday announced that workers who absconded from service have been removed from staff records.

This was even as it vowed to sustain the Computer-Based Test promotion ( CBT) it started for its workforce.

The chairman, FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Eze, stated this at the venue of another round of CBT it conducted for over 8,000 workers across all cadres of employees.

“Some people are not really ghosts, but they have absconded from duty and if you abscond from duty, it means that you are no longer working,” Eze said.
He noted that the essence of the CBT for workers, scheduled to run through five days in batches, is to ensure that all workers have the skills and efficiency required for modern service delivery.

He stated further that  the administration had invested heavily on ICT training for workers and had maximum expectations from them in performance and service delivery.
While he also  appealed to the minister to consider setting up a CBT centre that will be wholly owned by the FCT, he stated that the glitches recorded during the test would be addressed.

In his speech, the acting Head of Service for FCTA, Nancy Sabanti-Nathan, stated that the CBT has come to stay for workers, adding that more training would be carried out to ensure that every employee is abreast with all modern innovation and technology.
She acknowledged that participants of the CBT have experienced some challenges, but assured that all of them shall be holistically addressed.
