The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the forthcoming FCT council poll, Moses Paul, popularly known as Dr. Mo, has said his years of experience and engagement across communities and underserved villages have made him witness the painful truth of people’s living conditions.
He explained that the neglect he witnessed across rural communities convinced him that development failures were not due to a lack of solutions but a lack of responsible leadership, and this ultimately pushed him into joining politics.
“My work in rural communities opened my eyes to a painful truth: many problems in our society are not because solutions don’t exist, but because leadership has failed to deliver them. Development is a leadership question. My decision to step into politics is driven by a lifelong commitment to people at the grassroots,” he said.

Moses is of the opinion that AMAC deserves a leader who understands the struggles of rural residents, citing children walking kilometres to ill-equipped schools, dry taps that force women to fetch water from a long distance, and health centres lacking basic supplies.
Speaking on what he intends to do differently if elected, Moses outlined three priorities, including providing transparency and accountability for public funds, establishing a people-focused government, and pursuing evidence-based development, adding that his goal is to make AMAC “a model council where people can visibly see government working for them.”
