The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command successfully foiled a robbery attempt in Giri Village, located behind the University of Abuja Staff Quarters, resulting in the death of one suspected robber.
Sources said the incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. when a gang of armed robbers invaded the area. Police patrol teams from Tungan Maje Division, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) and local vigilantes, swiftly responded and engaged the suspects in a gun duel.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama highlighted the incident on his Twitter X handle on Monday.

According to Makama, the sources said , “Our officers acted promptly to intercept the armed robbers. One suspect was neutralized while others fled, and recovered items include a POS machine, four mobile phones, and a cutlass. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects”.
One of the suspects sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed his death.
