The collision, which occurred when a commercial Mazda bus (LND 490 SD) recklessly competed for right of way with a fast-moving truck (EKY 121 YJ), claimed one life and left two passengers seriously injured.

According to LASTMA’s Director of Public Affairs, Taofiq Adebayo, a passenger seated at the bus’s doorway was thrown out during the impact and crushed under the truck’s rear tires, resulting in immediate death. 

LASTMA operatives rescued two other passengers—a male and a female—with severe injuries, who were rushed to Ikorodu General Hospital by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS). 

The deceased’s remains were handed over to their family by the Nigeria Police Force.Security personnel from the Owutu Police Division supported LASTMA’s coordinated rescue efforts. 

Both vehicles were promptly evacuated to restore traffic flow. LASTMA urged drivers to prioritize safety and avoid reckless maneuvers on Lagos roads.
