Gunmen suspected to be bandits, on Monday morning, invaded Harding community in Dogon Ruwa, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, and abducted a husband, wife and their child.
Sources from the area told our correspondent that one person sustained a gunshot wound during the attack.
Our correspondent reports that the incident occurred at about 11am when residents of the area were going about their normal activities.

Shapi’i Sambo, a youth leader in the area, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent, said the gunmen arrived in the community and started shooting sporadically to scare people before abducting the victims.
The youth leader also said security personnel and vigilantes had moved to the bush to rescue the victims.
He said, “When the gunmen arrived in the community, people were going about their normal activities. The gunmen started shooting sporadically to disperse residents. Many people fled for safety. Unfortunately, two people were abducted. The armed men came with sophisticated weapons. Some victims were taken to hospital in Dogo Ruwa.”
The spokesman of the police in the state, DSP Alabo Alfred, did not respond to an inquiry by our correspondent on the incident.
