Nigeria’s Falconets kicked off their WAFU B Women’s Cup campaign with a 3-1 win over Ghana’s Black Princesses on Saturday.
Akeremkowei inspires strong start
Forward Janet Akeremkowei led the charge with a brilliant brace, while Favour Nkwocha added the third to seal the win.
Akeremkowei opened the scoring from the penalty spot before doubling the lead for Moses Aduku’s side just before halftime.

Ghana fight back, but Nigeria stay dominant
Ghana’s Sarah Nyarko pulled one back four minutes into the second half, briefly giving the Black Princesses hope.
However, Nkwocha struck again two minutes from time to restore Nigeria’s two-goal cushion and secure all three points.
