Fake Soldier, Three Suspected Car Thieves Arrested In Jigawa


Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a man impersonating a soldier along with three other suspected car thieves in Jigawa State.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shiisu Lawan Adam, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended on Tuesday around 7:50 am by operatives from the Kafin Hausa Division after being involved in a minor accident with a stolen vehicle at Sabon Sara Village, Kafin Hausa Local Government Area.

SP Shiisu revealed that preliminary investigations showed one of the suspects was impersonating Lance Corporal Kabiru Musa of the 102 Guard Brigade, FCT Abuja. The suspect is a resident of Rimin Kebe Quarters, Kano State.

He added that the police recovered a vehicle, seven different ATM cards, two driver’s licenses, and other items linked to fraudulent activities from the suspects’ possession.

The suspects have been formally charged in court following the completion of a discreet investigation.

The Jigawa State Commissioner of Police, Dahiru Muhammad, praised the operatives of Kafin Hausa Division for their professionalism and diligence, which led to the successful arrest of the suspects.
