Eze to miss Palace opener, makes known decision to join Tottenham

Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze is expected to sit out Sunday’s Premier League opener against Chelsea as he pushes for a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old, who scored the winner in last season’s FA Cup final against Manchester City, has told Palace he wants the switch and has already agreed personal terms with Spurs, according to journalists Sacha Tavolieri and Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham turned to Eze following James Maddison’s long-term ACL injury.

Arsenal had also shown interest earlier this summer, but their pursuit cooled after the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea.

Palace, meanwhile, are exploring a move for Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss as a potential replacement, reports The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

The 21-year-old is said to be open to joining Selhurst Park, though any deal hinges on Eze’s departure.
